I will be installing 2 of my paintings in public spaces sometime in the next few months. They have been purchased for Art in Public Places through the 1% for art program. Nature’s Harmony will be installed at the Healing Addiction Recovery Center in Albuquerque and Owachomo will be installed at the Valencia County 13th Judicial Court in Los Lunas.
I haven’t decided on a title for this painting yet so I have to let it tell me what it wants to be called.
I won’t have a title for it until it is finished. The small painting on the wall is an oil pastel that I did a few months ago and I finally got around to fixing it and will mat/frame it and will post a finished photo of it with other paintings soon.
I have 3 of my paintings on exhibit at Johnsons of Madrid Galleries in Madrid, NM.
The exhibit runs from February 7 – March 31, 2015
Reception: Saturday, February 7, 3-5 p.m

Loosening up a bit with a new direction in my painting approach…..
I’m experimenting with a combination of paints with oil pastels for the lily pads, over a combination of various other media. Once the oil pastels dry a bit, I’ll go in to add shadows and details.
It looks like the monsoon season finally arrived yesterday and gave us a spectacular light show last night with a bit of rain and slightly cooler temps. The breeze is wonderful and I’m ready to leave behind my desk, where I have spent the past week tweaking my newly designed website.
I’m looking forward to starting a new painting that will be a combination of watercolors and oil pastels, based on this photo that I took in April at Cypress Gardens, near Charleston SC. With our extreme drought and several wildfires burning around New Mexico, this lovely water image is a companion to my rain dances.
