San Antonio River Walk

Inspiration for future paintings. I just returned from a week long road trip to San Antonio for the SAQA conference. We camped on the San Antonio River and really enjoyed our walks along the river. Cormorants, Snowy Egrets, various ducks, lovely flowers.

Installation of Nature’s Harmony at Serenity Mesa

I just installed Nature’s Harmony at the Healing Addiction Recovery Center, Serenity Mesa, in Albuquerque NM. It is so rewarding to share my artwork with the public, especially in a setting where it will add peaceful feelings in stressful situations.

Monumental B&W Photo Juried into ANMPAS Shades of Gray Exhibit

This photo that I took years ago in Monument Valley has been juried into the Annual New Mexico Photographic Art Show at the Fine Arts Bldg at ExpoNM.
The exhibit will open with a public reception on Saturday, December 3, from 2 – 4pm and will be open through Wednesday, December 28. The gallery is open Tuesdays – Sundays from 10am – 5pm.

National Parks – Personal Narratives at the Phipps Center for the Arts

Morning Glory Pool has been juried into the exhibition, “National Parks – Personal Narratives” as part of the 100th birthday celebration of America’s National Parks.
This is one of the most intriguing geysers in Yellowstone National Park. When I shot the photos that I used for my artwork back in 1985, it was still relatively blue and teal and clean. The geyser is rapidly dying and has turned yellow/orange due to junk thrown into it by visitors; the debris clogs its vents and it is suffocating. I prefer to remember this gem in all its glory.

FLAC reception shot-2

Here I am with my painting, Coastal Symphony II, at the opening reception of the exhibition called Pulse last night at Fuller Lodge Art Center in Los Alamos. Great show and reception with several local musicians and each work of art had a QR code that played the music each artist chose to go with their artwork. Mine was the Prelude to Handel’s Water Music. Also, we had moment of silence for the victims and families of the Pulse Orlando shooting. The art show was planned last year so it was simply coincidence that the title/theme was Pulse.
